AI Engineer – Freelance
**Role Summary**
Design, develop, and integrate AI-driven features for an innovative digital learning platform. As a remote freelancer, shape system architecture, select AI models, and build personalized learning experiences, while ensuring data privacy, performance, and scalability from the project’s inception.
**Expectations**
- Lead the technical design and implementation of AI functionalities.
- Shape the project’s technical direction and deliver high‑quality, production‑ready models.
- Maintain clarity in communication with stakeholders and deliver on agreed timelines.
- Uphold data privacy and security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Architect and build AI components (ML, NLP, recommendation engines) for the learning platform.
2. Evaluate, select, and configure appropriate models and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn).
3. Deploy models on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and ensure scalability.
4. Implement data pipelines, feature engineering, and model training workflows.
5. Conduct testing, performance tuning, and continuous optimization.
6. Document technical designs, code, and operational procedures.
7. Communicate progress, risks, and technical challenges to stakeholders.
8. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations relevant to educational technology.
**Required Skills**
- Proven AI engineering experience in application development, ideally within education/e‑learning.
- Strong Python development skills; proficiency with TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn, or similar libraries.
- Deep understanding of machine learning, NLP, and data analytics.
- Hands‑on experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Ability to work independently, solve problems proactively, and manage remote collaboration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; clear documentation of processes.
- Awareness of data privacy and security standards (GDPR, FERPA, or equivalent).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, TensorFlow Developer Certificate) are advantageous.
