Data Scientist I **Role Summary:** Apply advanced analytics and machine learning to real-world healthcare challenges, improving care quality, reducing costs, and driving population health impact through data-driven insights and deployable models. Focus on practical applications over theoretical research. **Expactations:** - Apply analytical expertise to structured/unstructured healthcare data (claims, clinical records, eligibility, provider demographics). - Deliver scalable models aligned with regulatory, payer, and provider needs. - Collaborate cross-functionally with clinicians, epidemiologists, and healthcare administrators. - Translate data into actionable solutions for clinical and operational decision-making. - Support production pipeline integration and model performance monitoring. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and implement machine learning models for quality improvement, cost containment, and risk stratification. - Develop production-ready pipelines for healthcare analytics platforms. - Conduct exploratory data analysis to validate AI/ML use cases. - Partner with stakeholders to align models with business goals. - Document methodologies for team collaboration and reproducibility. - Deploy models into operational environments and optimize performance. - Participate in cross-team projects and knowledge-sharing sessions. - Identify use cases across business units to expand analytic value. - Provide end-to-end solutions from data ingestion to model application. **Required Skills:** - Machine learning (Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Spark). - SQL for querying relational databases. - Experience with healthcare datasets (claims, HEDIS, social determinants of health). - Big Data tools (Scala, Hive, Impala). - Cloud or big data environments. - Applied ML experience in production-scale healthcare solutions. - Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder alignment. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in epidemiology, biostatistics, health informatics, data science, or related field. - 1–3 years in advanced analytics or applied machine learning. - Equivalent professional experience accepted in lieu of formal education.
