Job Description

**Job title:** Commercial Legal Counsel – IP & Technology **Role Summary:** Provide legal counsel on technology, data, and IP matters for a large infrastructure project, advising on commercial contracts, IP and data sharing, privacy, cyber, AI, and emerging regulation to support digital transformation and infrastructure delivery. **Expectations:** - Deliver timely, legally robust advice that balances risk and commercial objectives. - Maintain clear communication with senior stakeholders and external counsel. - Operate proactively in a fast‑moving, multi‑stakeholder environment. **Key Responsibilities:** - Draft, review and negotiate IT and commercial contracts (SaaS, licences, cloud, digital transformation). - Manage IP and data‑sharing agreements across multiple partners. - Advise on privacy, cyber, AI and emerging technology regulations. - Support strategic decisions on systems and digital programmes underpinning long‑term infrastructure delivery. - Collaborate with senior stakeholders and external counsel to ensure compliance and commercial soundness. **Required Skills:** - Commercial legal judgment with ability to balance risk and delivery. - Strong written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex legal issues into actionable advice. - Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast‑moving environment. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Qualified lawyer in England & Wales with at least 3 post‑qualification years (3PQE). - Solid experience in commercial law; IP, data protection, and cyber experience is a plus.
