**Job Title**
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
**Role Summary**
Lead overall operational strategy and execution for a mission‑driven healthcare organization. Align clinical, financial, and regulatory priorities, drive scalability and innovation, and deliver measurable improvements in patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
**Expectations**
- Achieve 10‑20 % reduction in operating costs while improving patient satisfaction scores.
- Manage a $500 M+ budget, optimizing capital investments, vendor contracts, and revenue cycles to enhance profitability.
- Lead organizational growth initiatives, including service line expansion, mergers & acquisitions, and telehealth deployment.
- Maintain 100 % compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission, and state/federal regulations.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Strategic Operations Leadership – Collaborate with CEO and executive team on long‑term operational strategy; expand service lines and borough presence.
2. Operational Efficiency & Optimization – Oversee clinical, administrative, and support functions; implement Lean, Six Sigma, and AI‑driven analytics to improve processes.
3. Team Building & Leadership – Direct 200+ staff including VPs; foster inclusive culture and high‑performance teams.
4. Regulatory & Risk Management – Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission, cybersecurity, supply‑chain, and quality standards.
5. Financial Oversight – Partner with CFO on budgeting, P&L, capital investment, vendor negotiations, and revenue cycle management.
6. Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management – Coordinate with board, clinicians, payers, and city stakeholders on strategic initiatives.
7. Innovation & Performance Metrics – Use KPIs and predictive analytics to drive value‑based care and organizational performance.
**Required Skills**
- Deep expertise in hospital or payer operations (revenue cycle, supply chain, clinical workflows).
- Full P&L ownership and strong financial acumen.
- Proven experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Agile methodologies.
- Advanced proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/Cerner) and emerging tech (AI, telehealth).
- Strategic thinking with hands‑on execution; resilient, collaborative, ethical leadership.
- Ability to travel up to 5 % and work in the U.S.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- MBA, MHA, or equivalent advanced degree (clinical background – RN, MD – is a plus).
- Eligible to work in the United States.
