**Job title**
Residential Building Project Manager
**Role summary**
Oversee the end‑to‑end lifecycle of residential building projects, from initial planning and design through construction, commissioning, and handover. Coordinate cross‑functional engineering, manufacturing, and site teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to specified quality and safety standards.
**Expectations**
- Deliver projects that meet contractual scope, schedule, and cost targets.
- Maintain rigorous documentation and reporting for internal and client stakeholders.
- Manage risk, change control, and financial performance.
- Lead project activities across domestic and international teams.
**Key responsibilities**
- Lead project planning, execution, commissioning, and final handover.
- Represent the organization in meetings with customers, contractors, and senior management.
- Supervise project engineers and support staff; ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
- Monitor and mitigate project risk; execute proactive corrective actions.
- Manage project financials, schedules, and scope changes; report to management.
- Perform site visits to monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure safety.
- Maintain structured project documentation (schedules, cost tracking, change control).
- Conduct root‑cause analysis; collaborate on technical solutions across design, manufacturing, and service teams.
- Track and report performance metrics, risk assessments, and status updates.
- Ensure compliance with industry quality and safety standards.
**Required skills**
- Strong project management and leadership abilities.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Teams).
- Experience with scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
- Effective written and verbal communication.
**Required education & certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience, preferably with heavy equipment or complex mechanical/rail systems.
- PMP certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 1 year).
- Knowledge of the railroad industry and experience interfacing with Class I railroads/transit is an advantage.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25 %.
