**Job Title**
GIS Specialist & Geospatial Applications (m/f)
**Role Summary**
Lead the development, deployment, and support of GIS and digital solutions for sustainable energy projects. Work within a multi‑national team to create relational databases, design and implement web‑GIS platforms, train clients, and contribute to commercial strategies.
**Expectations**
- Minimum of 5 years’ professional GIS experience.
- Engineer or Master’s degree in GIS, geography, environmental science, or related field.
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, Manifold) and web‑GIS development (ArcGIS Online, Geoserver, Mapmint).
- Strong SQL skills (SQL Server, PostgreSQL/PostGIS) and Python programming for data processing.
- Capability to manage end‑to‑end projects and conduct client training.
- Fluent Excel and PowerPoint; basic commercial communication skills.
- English proficiency preferred.
- Willingness to travel to Africa and other project locations.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. **GIS Development & Digital Applications**
- Collect, clean, and structure spatial and non‑spatial data into relational databases.
- Design and implement web‑GIS solutions and platforms, including ArcGIS Online and Geoserver.
- Perform data consolidation, spatial analysis, and cartographic outputs.
- Translate user requirements into functional specifications and develop custom tools.
2. **Client Deployment & Training**
- Install and configure databases and digital solutions on client sites.
- Provide technical support for GIS, databases, and digital tools.
- Manage project schedules and deliverables.
- Deliver workshops and training sessions on GIS software (Manifold, QGIS, etc.).
3. **Commercial Support**
- Assist in developing digital product strategies and commercial offers.
- Prepare sales presentations and proposals; support sign‑up processes.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing to promote digital solutions.
**Required Skills**
- GIS software: ArcGIS, QGIS, Manifold.
- Web‑GIS technologies: ArcGIS Online, Geoserver, Mapmint.
- Database systems: SQL Server, PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
- Programming: Python (data manipulation, automation).
- Office suite: Excel, PowerPoint.
- Project management: organization, autonomy, multitasking.
- Communication: client liaison, training facilitation, English proficiency.
- International mindset and readiness for travel.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Engineer degree or Master’s in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications in GIS (e.g., Esri ArcGIS Professional) preferred but not mandatory.
