**Job Title:** SaaS Product Documentation Writer **Role Summary:** Develop and maintain customer‑facing documentation for a B2B SaaS product, translating complex features into clear, task‑oriented guides, in‑app help, release notes, and onboarding materials. Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure documentation is synchronized with releases and optimized for discoverability and usability. **Expectations:** - 3–7+ years experience creating product documentation for B2B SaaS. - Ability to write concise, plain‑English content focused on user tasks. - Proficiency with Markdown, Git/GitHub, and docs‑as‑code workflows. - Strong information‑architecture sense and basic analytics‑driven improvement. - Comfortable reviewing PRDs/UX flows, testing features, and reporting gaps. **Key Responsibilities:** - Author and update user/admin guides, how‑tos, FAQs, troubleshooting articles, and in‑app tooltips. - Produce release notes and upgrade/transition guides for each product release. - Convert PRDs and UX specifications into step‑by‑step documentation with screenshots and diagrams. - Maintain information architecture, search relevance, and a documentation backlog. - Implement a docs‑as‑code pipeline (Markdown, Git, PR reviews, CI previews). - Track documentation usage metrics; refine content based on search gaps and support tickets. - Uphold a style guide, terminology consistency, and accessibility standards (alt text, proper headings). **Required Skills:** - Expert technical writing with focus on task‑first content. - Information design and content structuring. - Markdown, Git/GitHub, static site generators (e.g., Docusaurus, MkDocs). - Screenshot/diagram tools (Snagit, Figma, Mermaid, etc.). - Basic API understanding (OpenAPI/Swagger) and familiarity with Postman a plus. - Knowledge of SEO principles for documentation and localization workflows. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. - No specific certifications required; demonstrable portfolio of SaaS documentation preferred.
