Develops a comprehensive new‑business strategy, builds a pipeline, secures high‑value deals, and prepares to lead a future sales team. **Expectations** - Generate new business revenue that meets or exceeds defined targets. - Design and execute a US‑wide B2B development plan aligned with corporate goals. - Travel 45‑50% nationally for prospecting, meetings, and industry events. - Provide actionable market insights and growth recommendations to senior leadership. - Transition into a team‑building and managerial role as the business expands. **Key Responsibilities** - Create and implement a B2B new‑business development strategy. - Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new market opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams. - Lead prospecting, outreach, and direct engagement with key decision‑makers. - Drive lead generation and manage the full sales cycle from qualification to closing. - Negotiate and close high‑value contracts and partnerships. - Analyze industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform strategy. - Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, and networking functions. - Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Finance to produce tailored proposals and presentations. - Report progress, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership. **Required Skills** - Proven B2B sales and business‑development track record (10+ years). - Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building abilities. - Strategic planning and problem‑solving mindset; entrepreneurial drive. - Analytical competence: data evaluation, market trend interpretation, statistical/ratio analysis. - Ability to influence and motivate internal and external stakeholders. - Established network within the pet‑food industry (preferred). - Willingness to maintain a fast‑paced, travel‑intensive schedule. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred). - Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships.
