**Job Title:**
AVP of Data Centre Migration
**Role Summary:**
Lead end‑to‑end execution of a large‑scale data centre migration programme, ensuring seamless transition, real‑time monitoring, and rapid incident resolution. Serve as the central command point for technical and executive stakeholders, translating business objectives into secure, scalable solutions while managing cross‑functional teams and maintaining strict governance and security standards.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver the migration within agreed timelines, quality, and risk parameters.
- Execute weekend migrations, operating a 24/7 command centre during cutover.
- Maintain composure under high‑pressure incidents, driving swift, structured responses.
- Actively communicate progress, risks, and decisions to senior leadership.
- Translate enterprise risk language into actionable plans for stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Coordinate all operational activities during the migration, including readiness checks, execution, and post‑migration validation.
- Lead incident management and escalation, initiating incident bridges and rapid response for critical issues.
- Translate business objectives and risk strategies into secure, scalable architecture designs that meet public‑sector and enterprise security requirements.
- Evaluate services, applications, suppliers, and security tooling from a technical and security architecture perspective.
- Analyse technical risks across platforms, communicating risk in enterprise‑level terms to support decision‑making.
- Develop cloud‑native, secure‑by‑design solutions aligned with organisational security frameworks.
- Identify opportunities for emerging technologies while managing regulatory obligations and risk appetite.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and delivery teams to embed effective security controls throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Provide expert security architecture guidance, advising on threats, mitigations, and best‑practice frameworks.
- Ensure all architectural decisions comply with relevant standards, policies, and governance requirements across cloud and on‑prem environments.
**Required Skills:**
- 7–10 years in critical IT operations, incident management or NOC/SOC leadership in large, complex enterprise settings.
- Proven leadership of virtual teams, with ability to drive clear, timely decisions in high‑impact situations.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication; experience influencing senior stakeholders (Directors, VPs).
- Strong technical knowledge of data centre infrastructure: compute, storage, networking, virtualization, cloud technologies.
- Working knowledge of database infrastructure (deeper expertise a plus).
- Hands‑on proficiency with enterprise tooling: incident management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow), collaboration tools (MS Teams), monitoring systems, project‑management software.
- Ability to operate calmly and effectively in fast‑moving, mission‑critical environments.
- Willingness to work rotational weekend shifts to support 24x2 command centre operations during migration.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications enhance candidacy: ITIL Foundation, CISSP, CISM, CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or equivalent security and networking qualifications.
