**Job Title:** DMU Designer II
**Role Summary:**
Develop and validate Digital Mock‑Ups (DMUs) and 3‑D seat models for aircraft seats. Ensure models meet design, assembly, installation, and maintenance requirements through data quality checks, collision analysis, simulation, and documentation. Collaborate with design, engineering change, and OEM teams to support design decisions and deliver compliant seat assemblies.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver accurate, compliant DMUs and 3‑D models on schedule.
- Maintain data integrity and comply with zero‑point and other design standards.
- Provide clear, actionable documentation and presentations for authorities and OEMs.
- Support design changes and engineering change processes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Create, update, and maintain DMUs using parts lists and detailed design data.
- Perform data quality checks on 3‑D models; conduct BOM comparisons and delta analysis.
- Execute static and dynamic collision analyses (Catia/Teamcenter) and categorize collision criticality.
- Analyze ease of installation and maintenance: screw accessibility, sequence, boundary conditions, and component life‑cycle.
- Simulate seat installation in aircraft, considering aisle width, fuselage geometry, doors, galleys, and other installations.
- Document investigations and results in presentations for OEMs and authorities.
- Advise design teams on results; suggest design changes where necessary.
- Validate fully detailed 3‑D seat models against construction documents (parts list, layout, envelope drawing).
- Create simplified 3‑D models for OEMs/customers, ensuring IP protection and file‑size compliance.
- Generate part, assembly, and arrangement drawings (layout, envelope, sections, unfolds, penetrations, projections).
- Prepare design data and concept models for prototype production.
**Required Skills:**
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 (3+ years).
- Experience with PLM database systems (Teamcenter, Agile, Enovia).
- Knowledge of aircraft documentation and configuration control systems.
- Strong 3‑D modeling, collision analysis, and simulation skills.
- Ability to perform data quality checks and BOM delta analysis.
- Excellent documentation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented, problem‑solving mindset, and teamwork ability.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Minimum high school diploma (H.S.).
- 3–5 years of design experience in a relevant field.
- 3+ years of CATIA V5 experience.
- Preferred: training or certification in PLM systems (Teamcenter, Agile, Enovia) and aircraft configuration control.
