Job Description

**Job Title:** Application Developer **Role Summary:** Design, develop, test, document, and maintain custom applications and database solutions on the ServiceNow platform to support the Department of Energy’s Naval Reactors Program. **Expectations:** * Obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance (minimum L‑level). * Deliver high‑quality, reliable software in accordance with the 08Y‑EA backlog and Navy requirements. * Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, stakeholders, and end users to translate requirements into functional solutions. **Key Responsibilities:** * Build new applications and database components, and enhance existing ServiceNow applications based on product backlog items. * Create and execute test plans; apply automated testing tools to verify functional and integration requirements. * Author and update end‑user and technical documentation, including operational instructions and change logs. * Provide ongoing maintenance support: troubleshoot defects, implement enhancement requests, and apply patches. * Participate in code reviews, configuration management, and release management processes. **Required Skills:** * Proficient in ServiceNow application development (Scoping, Development, Testing). * Strong SQL/database design and query skills. * Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, TestNG). * Familiarity with DevOps practices, release management, and CI/CD pipelines. * Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to produce clear documentation. * Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. **Required Education & Certifications:** * Minimum of a four‑year bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, **or** * Three (3) years of professional application development experience. *DOE security clearance eligibility (L‑level minimum; higher levels as required).
