Job title: International Sales & Business Development Manager
Role Summary: Lead global commercial growth for a high‑performance technical textiles company, identifying new markets, securing customer relationships, and driving revenue through strategic sales and partnership development.
Expectations: Deliver measurable new business acquisition, open at least two new geographic markets per year, and generate a minimum of €10 M incremental revenue within 12 months, while building long‑term client relationships and maintaining high customer satisfaction scores.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, qualify, and pursue new market opportunities, including customer segments, product lines, and partnership models.
- Prospect and cold‑call decision‑makers, develop tailored proposals, and lead complex sales cycles from qualification to contract close.
- Conduct client, partner, sponsor, and stakeholder meetings to present value propositions and secure repeat business.
- Define business‑development goals, align them with corporate growth plans, and implement strategic action plans.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, draft contracts, and coordinate cross‑functional approvals.
- Lead or support bid‑writing, tendering, and grant‑application processes for B2B contracts.
- Develop deep technical knowledge of products and market applications to advise clients and train teammates.
- Communicate strategic initiatives internally to secure stakeholder buy‑in; lead process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with marketing on campaign strategy, event planning, and brand positioning.
- Liaise with finance, production, warehouses, and logistics to ensure seamless commercial execution.
- Attend industry conferences, seminars, and trade shows to build networks and stay informed of market trends.
Required Skills
- 5+ years international sales/business‑development experience in technical textiles, coated materials, or related industrial B2B sector.
- Proven success in launching new markets, managing multi‑step sales cycles, and closing high‑value contracts.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation ability, and structured approach to client development.
- Technical curiosity and capability to comprehend and communicate complex product specifications.
- High proficiency in English; fluent French (written & oral, C level); German is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and cross‑cultural communication skills.
- Self‑starter, resilient, and able to work autonomously in a fast‑paced, global environment.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related discipline.
- Sales or business‑development certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Sales Person, MCS) preferred but not mandatory.
