Job Description: **Job Title** Software Developer – PLC Controls Solutions **Role Summary** Develop and deliver custom PLC and HMI control solutions for municipal water and wastewater treatment projects. Work across inception, design, implementation, testing, documentation, and support phases, serving as a technical resource to sales, project, and service teams while collaborating with a global engineering group. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑quality PLC/HMI control products on schedule across multiple concurrent projects. - Participate in all project stages, ensuring complete documentation and adherence to quality standards. - Provide expert guidance to sales and project teams on technical feasibility and solution design. - Commit to continuous improvement of controls design and process efficiency. - Travel internationally for site commissioning and client support as required. **Key Responsibilities** - Analyze client requirements and translate them into detailed controls philosophies and test protocols. - Program and validate PLC logic and HMI interfaces using Rockwell Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View. - Execute configuration, commissioning, and verification of PLCs and HMIs on site. - Generate comprehensive design and test documentation for delivery, handover, and future maintenance. - Serve as a technical liaison for sales, engineering, and service personnel. - Participate in global team meetings, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives. **Required Skills** - ≥5 years experience in PLC and HMI programming (Rockwell) for complex customer or product logic. - Proficient with Rockwell Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, and PLC configuration tools. - Familiarity with Schneider, Siemens, GE, or other PLC families is a plus. - Knowledge of industrial network protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.) and embedded systems is an asset. - Strong problem‑solving, attention to detail, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. **Required Education & Certifications** - Post‑secondary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related discipline. - Professional certifications in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell Certified) are advantageous but not mandatory.
