Job Description: Job title: Back‑End Developer / Software Architect Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python‑based back‑end systems for energy‑system research tools. Lead architectural decisions, cloud infrastructure design, and CI/CD pipelines while coaching teammates on best practices. Collaborate closely with researchers to translate scientific models into production‑ready software. Expactations: - Deliver robust, secure, and high‑performance back‑end components. - Own end‑to‑end lifecycle of software modules from design to deployment. - Mentor and elevate technical standards across cloud, data engineering, DevOps, ML, and security. - Align software solutions with research goals and stakeholder requirements. - Maintain clear documentation and promote reusable architecture patterns. Required Skills: - 5+ years of professional software development experience. - Advanced proficiency in Python and object‑oriented programming. - Proven experience in software architecture and system design. - Hands‑on with Azure, Docker, CI/CD workflows. - Knowledge of relational and non‑relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Timeseries DB). - Strong independent work ethic and collaborative mindset. - Continuous learning attitude; interest in energy systems and sustainability. Required Education & Certifications: - Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field. - Relevant certifications in cloud (e.g., Microsoft Azure) or DevOps are a plus.
