Job Description
**Job Title** Technical Product Manager, AI Platform **Role Summary** Own the end‑to‑end technical architecture and data foundation for an AI‑first student success platform. Design learner data models, extraction pipelines, retrieval & routing logic, and cost‑aware AI decisioning that support downstream AI features such as guidance, assessment, and personalization. Partner with engineering to prototype vertical slices, deliver early AI experiences, and scale the platform for millions of users. **Expectations** - Define and ship the core AI architecture and data model within the first 90 days. - Translate system design into functional product outcomes, delivering at least one end‑to‑end AI slice per quarter. - Operate independently with a small, cross‑functional team while ensuring alignment with engineering and product leadership. - Maintain sustainability of AI costs through routing, caching, and LLM governance. **Key Responsibilities** - Architect the foundational learner data model, schemas, and metadata strategy. - Specify extraction pipelines for text, audio, image, and document signals, including tagging, enrichment, and indexing. - Design RAG, orchestration, and routing logic to retrieve relevant context and control LLM usage. - Develop cost‑aware AI decisioning frameworks (SLM‑first, cost envelopes, caching). - Scope, deliver, and evaluate vertical slice AI experiences for student work insights, guidance, and educator workflows. - Lead the initial innovation pod, set priorities, produce prototypes, and collaborate with engineering and product leaders. **Required Skills** - Deep knowledge of AI architecture (LLMs, RAG, knowledge graphs). - Experience designing data models, extraction pipelines, and retrieval systems. - Proficiency in data engineering concepts, schema design, and metadata strategy. - Understanding of AI cost management and resource governance. - Strong product sense: ability to translate technical design into user-facing impact. - Collaboration with engineering, product, and leadership; agile delivery mindset. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, AI/ML, or related field. - Prior experience leading technical product or architecture roles in AI/ML or SaaS.
