Job Title: IT Support Specialist
Role Summary:
Provide first‑line technical support for desktop, laptop, server, and manufacturing system environments. Manage hardware, software, networking, and security assets to maintain high availability of production and office IT infrastructure.
Expectations:
Deliver timely, professional assistance through ticketing, ensure compliance with GMP, Food Safety, and safety regulations, and contribute to continuous improvement and project initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to user incidents and service requests via ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and manufacturing systems (ERP/MES/SCADA/WMS).
- Install, configure, and upgrade Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, Office 365, and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V).
- Monitor system performance, apply patches, perform backups, and support disaster‑recovery plans.
- Manage user accounts, onboarding/offboarding, and access permissions.
- Maintain security protocols, perform routine audits, and ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Interface with vendors for specialized support and project implementation.
- Provide after‑hours support for critical production systems and participate in IT projects and upgrades.
- Perform incident investigations, report findings, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Supervise time‑attendance monitoring and approve vacation requests where applicable.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of IT support experience, preferably in manufacturing/industrial settings.
- Proficient with Windows Server (AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP), Linux administration, virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V).
- Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls).
- Experience with backup solutions, disaster‑recovery planning.
- Basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
- Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure) is advantageous.
- Skilled in Windows OS, Office 365, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent written and oral communication; ability to work in fast‑paced environments.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of relevant IT support experience.
- Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or equivalent.
