Job Description
Job Title: Tier 1 Analyst Role Summary: Entry-level cybersecurity analyst role focused on monitoring, analyzing, and escalating potential security threats within a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment. Expectations: Entry-level role under direct supervision; requires basic technical knowledge and completion of standardized tasks with limited complexity. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor network activity and system alerts for threat indicators. - Escalate suspicious events to Tier 2 analysts for further investigation. - Document incidents, findings, and actions in ticketing/tracking systems. - Support preparation of incident reports and security summaries. - Maintain SOC documentation and standard operating procedures. - Assist with continuous monitoring and workflow improvements. - Apply core cybersecurity tools and methodologies in hands-on SOC operations. Required Skills: - Foundational cybersecurity knowledge (principles, network monitoring, incident response). - Familiarity with SOC operations and security information/event management (SIEM) tools. - Strong attention to detail and protocol adherence. - Clear written/verbal communication for incident documentation. - Proactive learning and collaboration in technical environments. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of relevant experience (internship/education accepted). - Active Secret clearance (must maintain). - U.S. citizenship required. - Basic understanding of network security and cybersecurity tools. - Problem-solving and analytical skills with willingness to learn from senior staff.
