People Operations Generalist
Role Summary
Provide end‑to‑end HR support in a fast‑growing tech environment. Manage onboarding/offboarding, recruiting, benefits, compliance, HRIS/ATS data integrity, employee relations, and process improvement projects.
Expectations
* Handle day‑to‑day HR operations for all employees.
* Deliver a consistent, positive employee experience across the first 90 days.
* Maintain full compliance with Ontario employment laws and federal regulations.
* Produce accurate HR metrics for leadership decision‑making.
* Own small to medium scale projects to automate and improve people processes.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct onboarding, offboarding, and documentation updates; ensure HRIS accuracy.
* Support full‑cycle recruiting: job posting, resume screening, interview scheduling, offer coordination, and candidate experience management.
* Administer employee benefits, liaise with vendors, and resolve enrollment/payment issues.
* Maintain compliance with ESA, Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA, and federal employment requirements; update policies as needed.
* Serve as first responder for employee relations inquiries, conduct coaching and investigations, and document findings.
* Manage and optimize HR systems (HRIS/ATS) such as Greenhouse, Lattice, Deel, or similar.
* Generate HR dashboards and analytics on turnover, hiring pipeline, headcount, absence trends, etc.
* Lead process improvement initiatives, including automation, playbook creation, and AI tool integration.
* Support learning & development and employee engagement programs (events, recognition).
Required Skills
* 3+ years People Operations/HR experience in a startup or fast‑growing company.
* Proven knowledge of Canadian payroll and benefits processes and vendor management.
* Strong experience with HRIS/ATS platforms (Greenhouse, Lattice, Deel, or equivalent).
* In-depth understanding of Ontario employment laws and compliance.
* Excellent written and verbal communication; strong confidentiality handling.
* Highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
* Collaborative mindset for cross‑functional partnership.
* Data‑driven: ability to produce and interpret HR metrics.
Required Education & Certifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
* HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM‑CP) preferred but not mandatory.
