Job Description
**Job Title:** Material Handler – 1 Year Contract (Day Shift) **Role Summary:** Responsible for accurate and timely picking, packing, staging, and shipping of dealer orders, as well as receiving, unloading, and processing inbound shipments and dealer returns. Ensures compliance with safety standards, maintains inventory integrity, and supports continuous process improvements within the Parts Distribution Center (PDC). **Expectations:** - Achieve daily productivity and accuracy targets. - Follow all health, safety, and security protocols. - Maintain clean, organized work environment. - Provide accurate reporting on inventory, shipments, and incidents. - Contribute ideas for efficiency and cost‑saving improvements. **Key Responsibilities:** - Pick, sort, and pack outbound orders using RF scanners; ship via LTL/PSS, including dangerous goods. - Load/unload trucks and trailers; conduct tow‑motor inspections and report damages. - Receive inbound shipments, document receipts, stage, unpack, and put away inventory. - Perform cycle counts, update part locations, and manage replenishment/velocity reports. - Process dealer returns and maintain core program requirements. - Secure facility (lock doors, control access) and maintain exterior cleanliness (e.g., snow removal). - Report statistics, accidents, equipment issues, and inventory variances to supervisor. - Attend meetings, provide feedback, and train agency staff as needed. - Identify and recommend process improvements for financial or time efficiencies. **Required Skills:** - Minimum 3 years experience in distribution, logistics, or supply‑chain operations. - Proficiency with barcode/RF technology and RF scanners. - Strong computer skills (mainframe and PC‑based applications). - Thorough understanding of Ontario health and safety regulations. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment. - Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - High school diploma (Grade 12) required. - Post‑secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience. - Knowledge of Ontario occupational health and safety standards (certification not mandatory).
