Job Description
Job title: Project Engineer Role Summary: Design, manage, and close out capital and maintenance projects for pipeline and terminal assets, ensuring adherence to engineering standards, cost, schedule, and quality. Expactations: Deliver on-time, on-budget projects; maintain accurate documentation; communicate clearly with stakeholders; resolve technical issues; support operational teams with engineering inputs. Key Responsibilities: - Assist with small-scale projects and sub-teams on larger initiatives; - Develop project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and contracting strategies; - Manage contractor bids, awards, procurement, construction, and close‑out; - Apply engineering specifications to minimize change orders; - Coordinate with operating locations for project planning and execution; - Conduct project reviews to verify engineering soundness, cost, and schedule viability; - Provide technical support on cost performance, economic analysis, equipment design, and layout; - Prepare and monitor budgets, schedules, and change orders; - Oversee field implementation of assigned projects; - Resolve design and construction conflicts; - Generate project reports for internal and external audiences; - Maintain detailed project records and documentation. Required Skills: - Strong engineering design process knowledge; - Ability to multitask and perform detailed work under tight deadlines; - Analytical problem‑solving and decision‑making; - Excellent written and verbal communication; - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook); - Project management and cost control experience. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management (Mechanical or Civil preferred); - Pipeline or terminal project experience a plus; - Experience in a pipeline company considered an asset; - Valid U.S. driver’s license; - Background check clearance; - Compliance with company drug/alcohol policy.
