Job Description
**Job Title** Financial Accountant (Contract) **Role Summary** Perform day‑to‑day accounting for UK and US operations, focusing on month‑end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and regulatory reporting under US GAAP and IFRS. Support consolidated financial statements, internal control implementation, and tax compliance across jurisdictions. **Expectations** * Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports within set deadlines. * Execute balance‑sheet reconciliations, journal postings, and analytical reviews. * Provide audit support, including schedules and documentation. * Maintain compliance with SOX, GAAP, and IFRS requirements. * Conduct ad‑hoc financial analysis to aid decision‑making. * Operate independently with ownership of deliverables and effective cross‑functional communication. **Key Responsibilities** * Close month‑end processes, including accruals, inter‑company transactions, and prepayments. * Prepare journal entries, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and analytical reviews. * Support preparation of 10‑Q and 10‑K reports under US GAAP and annual IFRS statements. * Manage share‑based payments, lease obligations, and deferred tax calculations. * Assist with US and UK tax compliance. * Design, implement, and maintain financial controls and procedures. * Perform ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting for management. **Required Skills** * Strong technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS. * Proficiency in month‑end close, reconciliations, and journal entry preparation. * Experience with 10‑Q / 10‑K reporting and audit support. * Understanding of SOX controls, share‑based compensation, leases, and deferred taxes. * Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail abilities. * Effective written and verbal communication across time zones. * Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities. **Required Education & Certifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. * Recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent).
