AI/ML Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions for the U.S. Army. Modernize geospatial intelligence workflows using Python, ArcGIS, and geospatial libraries, integrating large language models (LLMs) to parse structured facts from free‑form text while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and laws.
**Expectations**
- Work remotely, collaborating with cross‑functional teams on mission‑critical projects.
- Deliver robust, production‑ready AI tools that meet stringent operational and security standards.
- Maintain data integrity and adherence to legal, regulatory, and security requirements.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and train machine‑learning models, including LLMs, to extract and structure factual information from text.
- Process and analyze geospatial data using Fiona, Shapely, GDAL, and ArcGIS APIs.
- Build end‑to‑end pipelines for data ingestion, feature extraction, model training, and inference.
- Deploy models to cloud environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and compliance.
- Validate model outputs within the context of relevant rules, regulations, and laws.
- Document designs, processes, and best practices for future maintenance and knowledge transfer.
**Required Skills**
- Advanced proficiency in Python.
- Experience with geospatial libraries (Fiona, Shapely, GDAL).
- Practical knowledge of ArcGIS platform and APIs.
- Hands‑on experience building, fine‑tuning, and deploying LLMs for structured data extraction.
- Familiarity with cloud deployment (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Understanding of applicable regulations, rules, and laws governing ML in defense.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Geospatial Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- U.S. citizenship.
