Job Description
Job title: Business Development Manager – UK Role Summary: Drive revenue growth by acquiring new clients and expanding relationships with existing ones in the UK customs brokerage and duty management market. Act as a trusted advisor, identifying and converting new business opportunities and delivering tailored solutions across multiple industries. Expectations: • Fully remote work with regular client and internal communication. • Travel across the UK (and occasional EU trips) required; valid UK driving licence mandatory. • Fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment; must be resilient and adaptable. Key Responsibilities: • Build, maintain and report on a robust sales pipeline in Salesforce, ensuring accurate capture of all activities. • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within target industries using market insights and a value‑based approach. • Develop and nurture relationships with new and existing clients and suppliers, acting as a trusted adviser. • Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote services. • Collaborate with internal teams and overseas offices to generate and share sales leads. • Present pipeline progress and sales activities to management using dashboards and reporting tools. • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to drive strategic growth. • Demonstrate consultative, value‑driven selling and exceptional customer service. Required Skills: • Minimum 3 years in business development or account management (major/account focus). • Proven track record of selling ideas, products, and services; strong commercial mindset. • Ability to identify market leads, convert them into business opportunities, and close deals. • Excellent written and verbal communication, people skills, and stakeholder management. • Strong time‑management, multitasking, and organisational abilities. • Detail‑oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality. • Initiative‑taking, confident, and self‑motivated; capable of working independently and as part of a team. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce preferred. • Knowledge of UK customs brokerage/duty management services and logistics advantageous. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent work experience). • No mandatory certifications, though knowledge of customs or trade compliance certifications is a plus.
