Job Description
**Job Title** Finance Business Partner **Role Summary** Provide strategic finance support, including accounting, budget management, forecasting, and reporting for a defined portfolio of business areas. Deliver financial analysis and advice to operational budget holders, identify funding solutions, and manage deficits and new contracts. Collaborate closely with the Finance Business Partner Lead and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely financial information and robust controls. **Expectations** - Minimum of 5 years in varied finance roles within a complex organization. - Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) or equivalent professional experience. - Strong knowledge of UK accounting & financial legislation; experience with UK financial reporting standards. - Proven ability to lead budget creation, forecasting, and monthly reporting cycles. - Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, look‑ups, formulas). - Experience developing and maintaining financial processes, controls, and policies. - Analytical mindset with capability to interpret statistical data. - Proactive, solution‑focused problem‑solving and relationship‑management skills. - High‑quality output to tight deadlines; excellent communication, leadership, and coaching abilities. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Deliver accounting and analysis to portfolio business areas and their budget holders. 2. Lead budget setting, forecasting, and monthly reporting for assigned business units. 3. Provide financial advice, guidance, and solutions on funding issues, deficits, and new work/contracts. 4. Develop and enhance financial processes, controls, and policies to strengthen governance. 5. Produce accurate financial reports, dashboards, and variance analysis for senior management. 6. Analyse statistical data to support strategic decision‑making. 7. Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers, ensuring service levels and collaborative engagement. 8. Maintain adherence to UK accounting legislation, FRS 102, and Charities SORP (preferred). 9. Travel to other branch locations as required. **Required Skills** - Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) or equivalent professional qualification. - Minimum 5 years of finance experience in a complex organizational environment. - Management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting expertise. - Advanced Excel (pivot tables, look‑ups, formulas). - Financial controls development and process improvement. - Strong analytical, statistical, and reporting abilities. - Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and coaching skills. - Proactive problem‑solving and relationship management. - Proficiency with office software (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). **Required Education & Certifications** - Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) OR equivalent professional accounting qualification. - Minimum 5 years of relevant finance experience in a complex organization.
