Job Description
Job title: 3rd Line IT Support & Infrastructure Specialist Role Summary: Senior technical specialist delivering 3rd‑line support across multiple UK sites, leading infrastructure projects (disaster recovery, Microsoft 365 migrations, networking), and ensuring the reliability, security, and compliance of on‑premises and cloud environments. Expectations: • Provide responsive, expert troubleshooting for complex, multi‑site incidents. • Own the lifecycle of infrastructure projects from planning to delivery. • Maintain high standards of system availability, security, and documentation. • Mentor junior support staff and promote service‑delivery best practices. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver 3rd‑line technical support to seven UK locations. - Lead and manage IT infrastructure projects: disaster recovery, Microsoft 365 tenant migrations, network configuration. - Administer and maintain the full Microsoft 365 stack (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, Azure, Azure Arc/Replication). - Deploy, operate and monitor backup and recovery solutions (Arctera Backup Exec, Veeam). - Support, monitor, and optimize physical and virtual server environments. - Collaborate with third‑party vendors and internal teams. - Mentor and provide technical guidance to 1st/2nd‑line engineers. - Implement and enforce IT security controls (MFA, access policy, vulnerability remediation). - Conduct proactive maintenance, capacity planning and create detailed documentation. Required Skills: - Minimum 5 years of senior IT support or infrastructure engineering experience. - In‑depth troubleshooting skills for multi‑site environments. - Strong knowledge of ITIL frameworks and service‑delivery best practices. - Windows Server OS (2012‑2025) administration. - Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, Azure, Azure Arc). - Active Directory & Azure Entra ID management. - Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IPSEC VPN, VLANs, BGP). - Cisco Meraki & Catalyst device configuration. - Hyper‑V virtualization and replication. - Excellent analytical, communication, organisational and mentorship abilities. Required Education & Certifications: - Degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. - Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, and ITIL Foundation (preferred).
