Job Description: Job Title: Senior Software Engineer Role Summary: Lead the design, development, and scaling of backend APIs and services for a logistics platform, driving architectural improvements, performance enhancements, and code quality across multiple microservices. Expectations: - Minimum 6 years of software architecture and development experience. - Proven expertise in Ruby and/or Go with strong object‑oriented and functional skills. - Experience with cloud (AWS), container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and data stores (PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka). - Ability to mentor junior engineers, influence engineering standards, and collaborate effectively with product and data science teams. Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and maintain high‑performance, scalable APIs and backend services. - Refactor legacy systems and architect new features that meet evolving scalability requirements. - Partner with engineering leadership to scope, plan, and execute team initiatives. - Mentor developers through the full software development lifecycle—planning, coding, testing, and deployment. - Champion best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, and security across the organization. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into robust backend solutions. Required Skills: - 6+ years of full‑stack software engineering with a focus on backend architecture. - Advanced proficiency in Ruby and/or Go; familiarity with microservices design patterns. - Strong command of PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, and AWS services. - Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI tools (e.g., CircleCI). - Knowledge of payment and identity APIs (Stripe, Checkr, Persona) is a plus. - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to simplify complex technical concepts. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience). - No mandatory certifications required.
