Expectations:
- Deploy and operate a CNCF‑compliant Kubernetes stack (upstream, Rancher, OpenShift, VMWare Tanzu, etc.) in commercial, multi‑cloud, hybrid, and disconnected settings.
- Translate security requirements into hardened, container‑based solutions using DoD artifact repositories.
- Lead automation across a large enterprise with hundreds of applications, ensuring “security first” practices at every lifecycle stage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain IaC/CaC solutions (Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Operators) for cloud, on‑premise, and edge deployments.
- Build and sustain robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or equivalent, integrating version control, build, test, and release processes.
- Implement automated security checks, code analysis, and vulnerability scanning within the Platform One stack across all environments.
- Collaborate with platform teams and Kubernetes distribution vendors to deliver secure, scalable services in both classified and unclassified contexts.
- Continuously enhance platform security posture through configuration hardening, container policy enforcement, and incident response readiness.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Kubernetes cluster operations (including Helm & Operators).
- Strong IaC expertise (Terraform, Ansible).
- Experienced with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines).
- Containerization fundamentals: Docker, Kubernetes, network policies, runtime security.
- Knowledge of source control, automated testing, and software build processes.
- “Security first” mindset with ability to enforce compliance in highly regulated environments.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years managing diverse CI/CD pipelines; 5 years in a DevOps environment utilizing AWS services.
- Active Secret clearance (or higher).
- Desired certifications: Certified DevSecOps Professional (CDP) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD).
