Job Title: Canada Retail Account Manager
Role Summary:
Lead the development and execution of retail strategies for Canadian grocery, natural, and whitespace channels, driving growth, profitability, and brand presence through strong dealer relationships, broker management, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Expectations:
- Deliver aggressive sales and profitability targets for all assigned accounts.
- Act as the primary steward of P&L, trade promotion planning, and forecast accuracy.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction and partnership quality across tier‑1 retailers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and sustain strategic relationships with national and regional retailers, wholesalers, and distributors.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, shopper marketing, and promotional opportunities to maximize sales volume and margin.
- Lead and mentor broker teams, ensuring clear communication, feedback, and performance alignment.
- Collaborate with Canada Retail Sales to create tactical plans that drive trial, market share growth, and household penetration.
- Own P&L management for all retail categories, setting and achieving revenue and profitability goals.
- Develop and present business reviews, sales line reviews, promotional strategies, and retail insights internally and to trade partners.
- Conduct ad‑hoc analyses to close gaps, identify growth opportunities, and support decision‑making.
- Partner with product, operations, and marketing teams to guarantee seamless execution of launches, promotions, and channel requirements.
- Forecast and track spend, sell‑in, and sell‑out for all managed retailers, providing demand‑planning inputs.
Required Skills:
- 5-8 years of CPG sales/account management, preferably in personal care or wellness.
- Proven negotiation and contract‑closing experience.
- Established relationships or experience with tier‑1 grocery, drug, mass, and natural retailers in Canada (Walmart Canada highly preferred).
- Ability to manage multiple brokers or direct reports.
- Strong analytical skills using syndicated retail and POS data.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Self‑starter with high standards, ownership mindset, and proactive problem‑solving.
- Comfortable traveling as needed.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Retail Manager) are a plus.
