Job Description
**Job Title:** Project Engineer – Roadway **Role Summary:** Support the Project Manager and Estimator on road and highway construction projects by handling administrative, scheduling, and compliance tasks to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification. **Expectations:** - Assist in project planning, scheduling, and cost control. - Coordinate submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and subcontractor agreements. - Maintain safety, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout project execution. - Provide accurate documentation and reporting from kickoff to project closeout. **Key Responsibilities:** - Attend turnover, job, and pre‑bid meetings; conduct site investigations. - Develop and update cash‑flow and workload schedules; prepare CPM schedules. - Manage submittals, purchase orders, change orders, and subcontractor contracts. - Monitor OSHA and company safety standards; enforce safety program. - Review construction documents, perform take‑offs, and obtain material/subcontractor pricing (including DBE). - Assist in preparing QA/QC plans and maintain related records. - Compile and maintain project reports, plans, and closing documentation. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency with Procore, Build2Win, and/or Primavera P6 (preferred). - Strong analytical, detail‑oriented, and organizational abilities. - Effective written and verbal communication. - Competent in Microsoft Office suite. - Ability to read and interpret contracts and construction documents. - Authorized to work in the United States now and in the future. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (equivalent experience may be considered). - Minimum 2 years of construction experience, preferably on road/highway projects. - No specific certifications required, but safety training and OSHA awareness expected.
