**Job Title:** Embedded Linux Development Engineer **Role Summary:** Develop, maintain, and support an embedded Linux platform for mining equipment using Yocto. Responsible for low‑level software (drivers, boot), mining‑specific applications, specification authoring, software architecture management, and integration across multiple machine baselines within an iterative development framework. **Expectations:** - 2–5 years of experience in embedded systems software engineering. - Strong command of C, C++, and Python. - Proficiency with Yocto (architecture, build tools). - Experience with embedded debugging, compilation, and simulation tools. - Familiarity with project‑management and version‑control tools (Confluence, JIRA, Git/SVN). - Excellent English; German is a plus. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Build and customize an embedded Linux platform using Yocto. 2. Develop low‑level software layers (device drivers, bootloader) for target hardware. 3. Design, develop, and support mining‑specific applications on the platform. 4. Write software specifications derived from product‑manager and system specifications. 5. Define and maintain the software architecture for all machine baselines. 6. Create modular, integrable software solutions and implement them per design. 7. Integrate developed software into various product baselines. 8. Collaborate with the embedded software validation team using an iterative development methodology. **Required Skills:** - Programming: C, C++, Python. - Yocto build system expertise. - Embedded debugging, compilation, and simulation toolsets. - Version control: Git or SVN. - Project management tools: Confluence, JIRA (or equivalents). - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Effective communication in English; German advantageous. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. - Relevant certifications in embedded systems or Linux development are a plus.
