Job Description
**Job title** Senior Legal Counsel (H/F) **Role Summary** Senior Legal Counsel appointed to the Legal Department of a multinational French company. Provides strategic legal support across contracts, corporate governance, compliance, intellectual property, and insurance matters. Works closely with the General Counsel and operational teams to safeguard the organization’s interests. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑quality legal advice on complex, cross‑border transactions. - Ensure alignment with corporate policies and regulatory frameworks. - Drive continuous improvement of legal processes and compliance programs. - Manage and mentor junior legal staff and paralegals. - Act as a trusted partner to business units, balancing risk and commercial objectives. **Key Responsibilities** - Draft, review, negotiate, and close commercial contracts (purchases, distribution, intra‑group) in France and abroad. - Provide corporate legal support for French and foreign entities, coordinating with paralegals. - Partner with compliance to design, roll out, and monitor compliance initiatives. - Advise operational teams on a wide range of legal issues, including regulatory compliance and risk mitigation. - Oversee the intellectual property portfolio, including brand registrations and protection. - Liaise with insurance brokers, manage claim procedures, and oversee guarantees. - Anticipate legal risks relating to business strategy and execute mitigation plans. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal workflows and knowledge management. **Required Skills** - Strong expertise in commercial contract law and distribution agreements. - Solid knowledge of company law, corporate governance, and compliance frameworks. - Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, actionable recommendations. - Excellent written and oral communication in French and English; Spanish a plus. - Autonomy, analytical rigor, pragmatism, and a cooperative mindset. - Proven project‑management and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities. **Required Education & Certifications** - Master 2 (LLM) or equivalent law degree. - Preferable background in a dual‑degree program (Sciences Po, business school). - Minimum 5 years of experience in law practice or in‑house counsel roles. ---
