**Job Title:** Principal Engineer – Network Security Data Analytics
**Role Summary:**
Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing operation of a cloud‑based Secure Service Edge (SSE) platform. Ensure zero‑trust access, data protection, and threat mitigation across the enterprise network while integrating automation, analytics, and cross‑functional collaboration.
**Expectations:**
- Define and execute architecture aligned with security standards.
- Deliver reliable, high‑performance SSE services with minimal downtime.
- Translate security data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Drive automation and continuous improvement of network security processes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, build, and maintain SSE solutions (SWG, ZTNA, CASB, FWaaS).
- Implement Zero Trust Network Access policies and manage IPSEC/AH/ESP/IKE protocols.
- Deploy and tune security controls in cloud environments, ensuring scalability.
- Develop and enforce security policies across all locations and user groups.
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events using Grafana, Kibana, Tableau, etc.
- Create/maintain scripts (Python, XML, YANG) and automation workflows for provisioning and configuration.
- Integrate vendor APIs for reporting and process automation.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and vendor teams to gather requirements and ensure seamless integration.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis of network issues and implement preventive measures.
**Required Skills:**
- 6+ years network engineering and security experience (LAN/WAN, MPLS, BGP, OSPF).
- Deep knowledge of SSE technologies: Secure Web Gateway, Zero Trust Network Access, Cloud Access Security Broker, Firewall‑as‑a‑Service.
- Hands‑on experience with IPSEC, AH, ESP, IKE protocols.
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
- Data visualization expertise (Grafana, Kibana, Tableau or similar).
- Scripting/automation: Python, XML, YANG; familiarity with APIs.
- Strong analytical ability to interpret large data sets and produce actionable recommendations.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and stakeholder management.
- Problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and ability to work independently under pressure.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Data Science, Statistics, or related field **or** equivalent combination of education and four+ years of relevant experience.
- Professional network/security certifications preferred (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, GICSP, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated six+ years of relevant experience (including military or specialized training as applicable).
