Job Description

**Job Title:** Principal UI/UX Designer **Role Summary:** Lead the end‑to‑end design of a cloud‑native SaaS platform for molecular design, leveraging user research, iterative design, and cross‑functional collaboration with scientists, engineers, and product teams to create a coherent, human‑centered user experience. **Expectations:** - Own the design strategy and execution for the Orion platform. - Translate complex scientific workflows into intuitive UI/UX solutions. - Mentor stakeholders on design best practices and maintain design consistency. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research; develop personas and design strategy. - Produce sketches, wireframes, high‑fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes. - Implement and refine designs through iterative cycles with engineering teams. - Measure product success using analytics and user feedback to inform continuous improvement. - Contribute to strategic product vision and roadmap around user experience. - Coach product, engineering, and customer teams on design principles. - Build and maintain design resources (e.g., UI component libraries) in collaboration with developers. **Required Skills:** - 3+ years of UX/UI design in an agile, SaaS or similar environment. - Proficiency with design tools: Balsamiq, Sketch, Figma, InVision, etc. - Strong user research capabilities and ability to synthesize findings into visual solutions. - Experience collaborating with front‑end engineers, product managers, and customers. - Ability to work effectively with PhD scientists and domain experts in chemistry/pharmaceuticals. - Knowledge of molecular/chemical data and drug‑discovery workflows. - Experience with cloud‑based SaaS services and component‑library development. **Required Education & Certifications:** - BS with ≥7 years experience *or* MS with ≥5 years experience *or* PhD with ≥1 year experience. - No specific certifications required, but UI/UX design credentials (e.g., NN/g, HFI) are advantageous.
