**Job Title** Director, Cloud Engineering **Role Summary** Lead the Cloud Engineering team within Platform Engineering to define and execute a comprehensive AWS strategy, drive cloud-native architecture, and enable scalable infrastructure for a leading audio entertainment platform. **Expectations** * Deliver a company‑wide cloud strategy aligned with technology and business goals. * Mentor and develop managers and senior engineers, fostering a culture of high performance. * Maintain close partnership with product, security, operations, data science, and finance stakeholders. * Serve as the primary liaison with AWS and stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Oversee end‑to‑end cloud architecture, design, and deployment across all product lines. 2. Develop and manage the executive roadmap for infrastructure, tooling, and developer platform. 3. Guide and coach engineering leads and senior engineers in best practices for cloud design, security, and automation. 4. Collaborate with Product Management to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps. 5. Evaluate new cloud services and practices, driving adoption to improve reliability, cost efficiency, and developer productivity. 6. Facilitate cross‑functional reviews of product briefs, technical designs, and architectural decisions. 7. Represent the organization in executive discussions on AWS account strategy, capacity planning, and partnership initiatives. 8. Balance competing priorities across backend, frontend, security, operations, data, and finance. **Required Skills** * 10+ years of software engineering experience, 5+ years in leadership roles. * 7+ years of hands‑on cloud architecture, 2+ years on AWS (compute, networking, IAM, security, serverless, container orchestration). * Deep knowledge of foundational infrastructure concepts: networking, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, load balancing. * Proven ability to build and scale cloud‑native solutions for high‑traffic platforms. * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. * Experience with DevOps practices: CI/CD, IaC (CloudFormation, Terraform), monitoring, and cost governance. * Familiarity with container runtimes (K8s, ECS/EKS) and serverless models. **Required Education & Certifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). * AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, or equivalent) highly desirable.

Expectations • 5+ years in DevOps/CI‑CD or SRE roles, with 3+ years on AWS. • Proven track record building and managing production Linux and Kubernetes environments. • Demonstrated ability to lead incident response, blameless post‑mortems and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities • Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation or similar. • Own full lifecycle management: architecture, deployment, operation, monitoring and refinement. • Implement automation and orchestration (GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Ansible) to accelerate delivery and reduce risk. • Monitor service health with Grafana, Prometheus, Alertmanager; proactively tune performance and availability. • Optimize cost and capacity planning while ensuring security and compliance. • Conduct incident response, root‑cause analysis, and run blameless post‑mortems. • Evaluate and recommend tooling, platform services and best practices.
