**Job Title** Principal Software Engineer, OCI Media Services **Role Summary** Lead the design, implementation, and operation of scalable, highly‑available cloud services that power media production workflows (animation, film, gaming). Own end‑to‑end service delivery, from architecture through launch, and mentor a distributed engineering team. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑quality, production‑ready cloud services on schedule. - Exhibit technical leadership, decision‑making, and ownership of complex projects. - Communicate effectively with cross‑functional and geographically dispersed stakeholders. - Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices. **Key Responsibilities** - Architect and design cloud services for availability, scalability, observability, and testability. - Write, review, and validate code; produce thorough documentation for services and microservices. - Collaborate with engineering peers to deploy services that enable animation, film, and game studios to run production pipelines in the cloud. - Stay current on emerging technologies and industry best practices; incorporate innovations into the service stack. - Lead launch and operational excellence initiatives, ensuring reliability and performance. - Coach and mentor team members; enforce software development standards and processes. - Conduct failure root‑cause analysis and drive continuous improvement. **Required Skills** - 5+ years of software development experience; extensive enterprise‑scale, cloud‑native experience. - Deep knowledge of distributed systems and cloud services architecture. - Domain expertise in media production pipelines (digital asset management, 3‑D frameworks, universal scene description, rendering workflows, image composition). - Proven lead‑developer experience designing, implementing, and operating cloud services. - Strong code review, design review, and debugging skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to lead cross‑team collaborations. - Familiarity with compliance, security, and operational best practices. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. - (Optional) Relevant certifications in cloud platforms or distributed systems preferred but not mandatory.
