Job Description
Job Title: Senior Engineering Manager [gn] Data Intelligence Role Summary: Lead a high‑performing engineering team that builds scalable data intelligence solutions, ensuring technical excellence, alignment with product vision, and delivery of high‑quality software for a global data platform. Expectations: Drive engineering organization strategy, monitor health metrics, shape long‑term technical vision, establish engineering processes, enable career development, mentor high‑potential engineers, foster a collaborative culture, and serve as trusted advisor to teams. Key Responsibilities: • Partner with the VP of Engineering to scale the organization and define team structures. • Monitor key health metrics (team ratios, bandwidth, efficiency). • Contribute to the long‑term vision of engineering leadership. • Define and enforce engineering‑wide processes: onboarding, performance management, staffing, and feedback. • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, Design, and Architecture to align designs and architecture. • Design and roll out career development strategy, career paths, skill frameworks, and succession planning. • Identify high‑potential engineers and support mentoring initiatives. • Foster an engineering community through events and knowledge sharing. • Promote a unified managerial culture across leadership. • Act as primary contact for day‑to‑day operational and career development matters. • Support team leads with technical mentoring, engagement, and growth tracking. Required Skills: • 7‑10 years experience as a Software Engineer in a SaaS product organization. • Proven background in technical management, engineering leadership, and software architecture. • Experience in scaling in a fast‑growth/scale‑up context. • Deep understanding of engineering career dynamics and talent management. • Knowledge of organizational design, team structuring, and scaling best practices (e.g., Team Topologies). • Familiarity with modern people and talent growth frameworks (Management 3.0, Radical Candor, Motivation Frameworks). • Strong cross‑functional leadership and facilitation skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication. • Strategic thinker with operational execution capabilities; proactive, structured, autonomous in leading initiatives. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Relevant certifications in software architecture, engineering leadership, or project management are a plus.
