Job Description
**Job Title** Data Analyst Intern **Role Summary** Assist with day‑to‑day data tasks, research, and analysis within the assigned department. Collaborate with teammates on projects, participate in meetings, and apply SQL, ETL/ELT concepts to design efficient data structures. Complete a capstone project to demonstrate applied analytics skills. **Expectations** - Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, pursuing or completed a degree in data analytics, computer science, statistics, information systems, or related field. - Strong interest in hands‑on data work and learning new tools. - Self‑motivated to work independently and as part of a team; proactive in taking initiative. - Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable using Microsoft Office and Teams. **Key Responsibilities** - Perform assigned data analysis and research tasks. - Support ongoing department projects and routine duties. - Attend and contribute to team meetings and brainstorming sessions. - Assist in developing data structures and pipelines from source to target, emphasizing efficiency and scalability. - Translate developer requirements into data model designs. - Use SQL and other querying methods to extract, transform, and load data. - Identify and troubleshoot data issues in programs and reporting tools. - Keep organized records of work and project documentation. - Conduct research for capstone project; present findings to stakeholders. **Required Skills** - Proficient with SQL and other query languages. - Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline concepts. - Basic data modeling and architecture skills. - Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program, or recent graduate, in data analytics, computer science, statistics, information technology, engineering, or related discipline. - No specific certifications required, but knowledge of database systems and data analytics tools is preferred.
