Data Architect (Contract – 12 Months)
**Role Summary**
Design and implement scalable data architectures on Microsoft Azure to support analytics, reporting, and decision‑making within the insurance domain. Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and IT architects to translate requirements into robust, governed, and cost‑efficient data solutions.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Build architectures using Azure services: Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, SQL, Cosmos DB, and Event Hub.
- Define data models, storage patterns, integration flows, and metadata standards.
- Partner with governance teams to enforce security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Guide engineers and developers in solution design, development, and deployment.
- Assess new cloud tools and best practices to enhance platform capabilities.
- Translate analytical requirements from stakeholders into scalable data solutions.
- Align data strategy with enterprise architecture.
- Optimize pipelines, storage, and processing for performance, reliability, and cost.
- Troubleshoot complex data issues and recommend architectural improvements.
- Champion modern data practices and cloud‑native approaches.
**Required Skills**
- 3–6 years in data architecture or engineering roles.
- Hands‑on expertise with Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Azure SQL, and related services.
- Strong data modeling, pipeline design, and integration capabilities.
- Proficient in SQL; scripting experience in Python or similar.
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT, distributed processing, and cloud data patterns.
- Understanding of metadata management, data quality, and security controls.
- Experience with DevOps practices (Git, CI/CD, IaC).
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Preferable familiarity with P&C insurance, CSIO standards, and auto insurance.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications in Azure data services or data engineering (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate) are a plus.
