**Job Title:** Senior Business Analyst – Oil & Gas
**Role Summary:**
Lead business analysis for a Texas state agency’s mainframe transformation program, modernizing legacy Oil & Gas systems through SaaS/COTS implementation, data migration, and data warehouse development. Operate independently, delivering comprehensive requirements, design, test, and production support documentation across multiple related projects.
**Expectations:**
- 10+ years of business analysis and 10+ years of requirements elicitation, documentation, and facilitation.
- Strong background in software QA, SDLC, and experience with JIRA for story, test case, and execution management.
- Proficient in SQL/Oracle queries, manual/automation testing concepts, and MS Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English, with proficiency in Visio, SnagIt, Axure, Adobe tools.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; occasional after‑hours availability.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Elicit, document, and manage business and functional requirements, including use cases, data models, and traceability.
- Analyze current and future state processes, document business rules, and produce design documents and workflow diagrams.
- Support SaaS/COTS implementation, mainframe data migration, and data warehouse initiatives by translating business needs into clear specifications.
- Coordinate with business, technical, and QA teams to align scope, design, and implementation.
- Define and execute UAT plans, develop test cases, and assist with smoke, regression, and functional testing.
- Conduct defect triage, root‑cause analysis, and coordinate fixes with support and development teams.
- Lead workshops, meetings, and presentations with stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
**Required Skills:**
- Business analysis (requirements elicitation, documentation, traceability, data modeling, prototyping).
- Facilitation of workshops and cross‑functional sessions.
- Design document creation and process mapping.
- UAT support, training, and implementation activities.
- Production support and root‑cause analysis.
- Software QA/engineering methodology knowledge.
- Test planning, case writing, and execution within SDLC.
- JIRA (stories, test cases, execution, reporting).
- Strong SQL/Oracle query skills.

- Advanced English communication and MS Office proficiency.

**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
