Job Title: Data Engineering Tech Lead
Role Summary:
Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, cloud-based data platforms on Azure or AWS. Own architectural direction for ELT pipelines, data modeling, and governance while mentoring a high‑performing engineering team.
Expectations:
* Deliver enterprise‑grade data pipelines that meet performance, reliability, and security standards.
* Guide the team toward best practices in automation, quality, and continuous delivery.
* Align technical solutions with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Architect and build end‑to‑end data pipelines and platforms.
2. Develop and refine ELT processes, data integration flows, and data‑modeling frameworks.
3. Define and enforce data quality, automation, and governance standards.
4. Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote continuous improvement.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
6. Implement DevOps/CI‑CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and related tooling.
Required Skills:
* Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS (including Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Amazon Glue, Redshift, Kinesis, Airflow)
* Data Engineering: ELT/ETL, Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, Stream Analytics
* Programming & Scripting: SQL, Python (PyTest), Bash, PowerShell
* DevOps & CI‑CD: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, SonarQube, Git, automated testing
* Quality & Governance: Data profiling, data lineage, metadata management, documentation tools (e.g., MkDocs)
* Leadership: Agile/Scrum team leadership, mentorship, code review facilitation
Required Education & Certifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Relevant cloud certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty).
