Job title: ServiceNow Developer
Role Summary:
Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow CMDB and Service Mapping to ensure accurate, real‑time representation of the organization’s IT landscape. Responsible for configuring discovery, troubleshooting mapping gaps, and creating custom patterns to support complex, hybrid environments.
Expactations:
- 5–7 years’ experience administering and customizing ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery.
- 4+ years hands‑on with Service Now Service Mapping, pattern design, and multi‑layer modeling.
- 4+ years in IT infrastructure and service management.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, MID Server scripting, and shell/PowerShell.
- Deep CSDM knowledge, CI lifecycle management, data governance.
- ITIL process understanding (Change, Incident, Problem).
- Ability to analyze and resolve discovery/probe failures, mapping inaccuracies.
- Strong communication skills for technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain CMDB structures per CSDM 4.0/5.0.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize Discovery and Service Mapping for near‑real time CI population.
- Develop custom patterns, probes, and scripts for non‑standard infrastructure.
- Partner with infrastructure, application, and business teams to build top‑down and bottom‑up service maps.
- Integrate CMDB with Incident, Change, Problem, and Asset Management for ITIL v4 compliance.
- Monitor data quality KPIs and lead remediation initiatives.
- Perform root cause analysis of discovery/mapping failures and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with security, compliance, and architecture teams on audit readiness, cyber asset inventory, and DR planning.
- Continuously improve service mapping processes using ServiceNow analytics and automation.
Required Skills:
- ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery administration & customization.
- Service Mapping design, troubleshooting, and pattern development.
- Advanced scripting: JavaScript, Glide API, MID Server scripts, shell/PowerShell.
- CSDM, CI lifecycle, and data governance expertise.
- Hybrid infrastructure, cloud/on‑prem, containerized/microservices knowledge.
- ITIL v4 process familiarity (Change, Incident, Problem).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery and/or CMDB.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITOM.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
