Job Description
Job Title: Equity Research Analyst Intern Role Summary Conduct in‑depth fundamental research on a designated industry to generate company and stock recommendations for portfolio management. Operate independently while collaborating with senior analysts and stakeholders, delivering analytical models, valuation reports, and investment theses. Expectations - Complete a 3‑day onboarding training covering research fundamentals and analytical techniques. - Develop expertise in a specific sector, covering 4–5 companies. - Produce and communicate investment recommendations to portfolio managers. - Attend industry conferences, company visits, and conduct interviews with corporate management. - Deliver clear, concise research notes and presentations. - Demonstrate ownership of research deliverables within a 10‑week internship period. Key Responsibilities - Gather and analyze company financial statements, industry data, and market trends. - Build and maintain financial models (DCF, comparable company analysis, etc.). - Draft research reports, including investment rationale, valuation range, and risk assessment. - Present findings to senior analysts and portfolio managers. - Monitor portfolio holdings and update models/assessments as new information arises. - Collaborate with peers to share insights and best practices. Required Skills - Strong quantitative and analytical abilities. - Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, financial modeling). - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple research projects. - Detail‑oriented with a focus on data integrity. - Familiarity with financial statement analysis and valuation techniques. Required Education & Certifications - Current undergraduate or graduate student in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or related discipline. - Minimum GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent). - Knowledge of financial markets and investment concepts. - CFA Level I candidate or equivalent financial coursework preferred.
