**Job Title:** Manufacturing Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Lead end‑to‑end industrialization of new electromechanical optical sensor products, driving Design for Manufacturability, pilot builds, and volume ramp‑up while coordinating design, quality, supply‑chain, and production teams to meet launch schedule, cost targets, and yield stability.
**Expectations:**
- Launch products on time, within target cost, and with defined yield/quality metrics.
- Establish and hand over stable, repeatable manufacturing processes.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer‑specific standards.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct DFM/DFA reviews with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and optics stakeholders.
- Develop and release Manufacturing Process Flow, Control Plans, PFMEAs, work instructions, and visual aids.
- Design jigs, fixtures, and tooling to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Lead EVT/DVT/PVT build events; manage fixture readiness, line layout, and material flow.
- Collect, analyze, and act on data to close design/process gaps before mass production.
- Qualify and onboard new suppliers; perform on‑site audits, PPAP/FAI reviews, and apply APQP.
- Monitor launch metrics (yield, scrap, takt time); execute containment, corrective actions, and 8D/5‑Why investigations.
- Transition sustainment ownership to production engineering with documented SOPs and lessons learned.
- Manage NPI schedule, risk register, readiness gates, and BOM migration to ERP/PLM systems.
**Required Skills:**
- 6+ years launching electromechanical products (cameras, LiDAR, robotics, or automotive sensors).
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks or Fusion 360).
- Experience with ERP/MRP/PLM systems.
- Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, GD&T.
- Ability to design tooling and fixtures.
- Data‑driven problem‑solving (8D, 5‑Why).
- Cross‑functional collaboration and project management.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher (preferred).
- Familiarity with electronics/PCBs and firmware interaction (nice to have).
