**Job Title**
Senior AWS DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud‑native DevOps solutions on AWS. Drive end‑to‑end automation for CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure provisioning to enable higher reliability and faster release cycles across application teams.
**Expectations**
- Own the DevOps modernization strategy and deliver tangible productivity gains.
- Mentor and influence teams on best practices in cloud, containerization, and serverless.
- Maintain a metrics‑driven approach to process improvement and system reliability.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Define and execute a DevOps modernization roadmap based on current technologies.
- Build and maintain internal tooling (scripts, pipelines) for software build, test, and deployment.
- Automate release processes via full CI/CD pipelines; eliminate manual steps.
- Enhance production stability through improved deployment processes, observability, and incident response.
- Support application teams in adopting consistent DevOps tools and practices across on‑prem and cloud environments.
- Evaluate, approve, and integrate vendor solutions to accelerate best‑practice adoption.
- Design and implement containerized and serverless architectures; manage Kubernetes clusters as code.
- Automate environment provisioning, logging, monitoring, and alerting.
- Perform additional duties as required by business or technical needs.
**Required Skills**
- **Cloud:** Advanced knowledge of AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, CloudFormation, Terraform).
- **Automation & CI/CD:** Proven experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, Git, Nexus; infrastructure as code, pipeline as code.
- **Containerization & Orchestration:** Docker, Kubernetes; Helm or equivalent.
- **Scripting & Programming:** Python, Go, PowerShell, Bash, Groovy; fluency in Java, C#, JavaScript, Ruby, or C++ for scripting contexts.
- **Testing & Quality:** Integrate unit, integration, smoke, and performance tests into pipelines.
- **Observability:** Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, CloudWatch, or similar stack.
- **Operating Systems:** Windows Server, Amazon Linux, RHEL, Ubuntu.
- **Methodologies:** Agile/SAFe, Lean delivery, SRE principles.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of senior DevOps or related cloud engineering experience.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional) are highly desirable.
