Job Title: IT Systems Administrator/Engineer
Role Summary: Deliver responsive technical support, maintain and secure network infrastructure, manage virtualization platforms, and oversee cloud services to ensure reliable, compliant IT operations.
Expectations: Provide consistent uptime, enforce cybersecurity protocols, coordinate with external IT providers, manage resources and budgets, document processes, and support change management for GMP compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as primary liaison with external IT vendors for the site.
- Define and prioritize IT objectives aligned with business goals.
- Plan and forecast costs, equipment, and staffing for IT projects.
- Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Diagnose and resolve complex connectivity, security, and performance issues.
- Support business units in leveraging information systems to improve efficiency.
- Update and patch hardware, software, and security tools (firewalls, antivirus, etc.).
- Monitor security, detect intrusions, and address vulnerabilities.
- Automate routine tasks and train users on new technologies.
- Manage backup, restoration, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Set up audio/video equipment for meetings and events.
- Maintain Hyper‑V and VMware clusters, Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Intune, SharePoint, Exchange, and Defender for Endpoint.
- Support remote users globally and communicate issues to off‑site teams.
- Present project status reports to management.
- Conduct gap analysis of validation documentation and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and update system policies, procedures, and validation/qualification documentation.
- Participate in change management initiatives to sustain GMP compliance.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate validation/qualification activities.
Required Skills
- Strong network administration (routing, switching, firewalls, Wi‑Fi).
- Proficient in virtualization (Hyper‑V, VMware).
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Intune, SharePoint, Exchange, and Defender.
- Knowledge of security best practices, intrusion detection, and vulnerability management.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex network, system, and performance problems.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Familiarity with change management and GMP/validation processes.
Required Education & Certifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (required).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2–3 years managing Hyper‑V and VMware environments (required).
- CCNA or Security+ certification preferred.
