Job Title: Director, Security – Dallas Region
Role Summary: Provide strategic leadership for the Texas Health Security Program across the Dallas, Kaufman, and Rockwall hospital sites, supervising security managers and aligning security initiatives with hospital business objectives while ensuring legal compliance and a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Expectations: Lead and develop a robust security posture, cultivate a service‑oriented security culture, collaborate closely with hospital leadership and the Chief of Police, manage high‑impact projects, and serve as a key security representative on multidisciplinary committees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute the regional security strategy, policies, and procedures.
- Supervise Entity Security Managers and provide indirect leadership to uniformed police and security officers.
- Partner with the Texas Health Chief of Police on deployment, operational effectiveness, and liaison with local, state, and federal law‑enforcement agencies.
- Build and maintain business plans, public‑relations, and partnership agreements with municipal authorities and law‑enforcement partners.
- Develop and implement training, standards, and performance metrics for security personnel and contractors.
- Oversee complex security improvement projects with significant financial, reputational, and legal impact.
- Ensure all security activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Represent security on threat‑assessment teams, committees, and senior‑leadership briefings.
Required Skills:
- Proven leadership in security operations, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Expertise in risk assessment, incident response, and security policy development.
- Strong project management, analytical, and communication abilities.
- Ability to collaborate across functional groups and with external law‑enforcement agencies.
- Knowledge of security technology, asset protection, and compliance standards.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive security management experience, with at least 3 in a strategic/leadership role.
- Professional certification such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Certified Security Manager (CSM) preferred.
