Job Description
Security Specialist Role Summary: Support Office of Inspector General (OIG) security operations, focusing on asset management, emergency readiness, and physical/cybersecurity protocols to protect personnel, assets, and information. Expactations: 1–4 years in security, identity, and credential management; experience in National Security, Interagency Security Committee (ISC), or Intelligence Community; proficiency in physical access control systems (PACS), HSPD-12 standards, and risk management principles; active security clearance required. Key Responsibilities: - Greet personnel/visitors, verify credentials, and issue PIV cards/building badges. - Monitor PACS, manage access permissions, and maintain security equipment/inventory records. - Assist in security policy review, implementation, and compliance (CCTV, IDS, alarm systems). - Prepare reports for security assessments, implement corrective actions, and track security data. - Classify/declassify sensitive materials, develop security procedures, and handle classified deliveries. - Coordinate material destruction and conduct facility access control operations. Required Skills: Risk management methodologies, PACS/IDS/CCTV systems, HSPD-12 compliance, security policy development, emergency operations. Required Education & Certifications: High school diploma/GED; 1–4 years of relevant security/credentialing experience in federal security or intelligence communities. Active security clearance mandatory.
