Job Description
**Job title:** DevOps Engineer (SC Cleared) **Role summary:** Support the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of cloud‑based digital services for a central government programme. Work on integration of application build, release, deployment, and configuration across multi‑functional teams, ensuring secure, automated, and resilient delivery pipelines. **Expectations:** - Deliver end‑to‑end DevOps solutions that meet strict security and operational standards. - Work collaboratively with developers, architects, and service owners under Agile/Lean frameworks. - Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and monitoring/logging environments. **Key responsibilities:** - Design and implement IaC using AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM, or Terraform. - Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI. - Provision and manage Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) environments. - Containerise applications (Docker) and orchestrate with Kubernetes (EKS). - Configure and maintain continuous inspection tools (SonarQube, Wiz). - Set up logging and monitoring (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana). - Conduct performance reviews and troubleshoot operational issues. - Participate in migration of legacy systems and support change management. - Ensure security best practices are integrated throughout the lifecycle. **Required skills:** - Infrastructure as Code (AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM, Terraform). - CI/CD (GitLab CI pipeline configuration). - Containerisation (Docker) and Kubernetes orchestration (EKS). - Monitoring & logging (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Splunk, CloudTrail). - Continuous inspection tools (SonarQube, Wiz). - Linux system administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu). - Scripting/Programming: Python, Bash. - Source control (GitLab/Git). - Strong understanding of security principles and compliance. - Ability to work in Agile/Lean teams and lead initiatives. **Required education & certifications:** - Minimum: SCR (Security Check) level National Security Vetting. - Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or related discipline. - Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Administrator, Azure Certified Engineer, Kubernetes Administrator, or equivalent DevOps credentials.
