Data Science Mission Officer (Apprenticeship)
**Role Summary**
Build and maintain automated economic databases and design interactive dashboards that deliver clear, data‑driven macroeconomic diagnostics of France. Support regional Medef offices, industry, and policy stakeholders through data visualisation and information products.
**Expectations**
- Produce high‑quality, reliable data sets and visualisations on time.
- Communicate findings in a concise, non‑technical manner to policymakers and the public.
- Collaborate across economics, fiscal, housing, innovation, and digital divisions.
- Engage with external data providers, statistical agencies, academia, and think‑tanks.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Search for, acquire, and clean relevant public and proprietary data.
- Build automated databases, ensuring data integrity and reproducibility.
- Create compelling visual narratives for paper, web, and mobile formats.
- Contribute to official Medef publications, notably “Cartes sur table.”
- Liaise with partners (professional bodies, statistics services, universities, think‑tanks).
- Support macro‑economic analysis including conjoncture, structural, sectoral, and international comparisons.
**Required Skills**
- Proficiency in data manipulation, cleaning, and automated database construction.
- Advanced statistical analysis; econometrics knowledge a plus.
- Expertise in data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power‑BI, D3.js, Python/matplotlib).
- Strong analytical, synthesis, and pedagogical abilities.
- Excellent written communication and graphic design skills.
- Detail‑oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Team‑player with curiosity, intellectual rigor, and strong initiative.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Current Master’s student (M1–M2) in Data Science, Economics, Statistics, or related field.
- No specific certifications required; proficiency in statistical software and visualisation platforms preferred.
