Job Title: System & Cloud Administrator
Role Summary: Responsible for maintaining and evolving client IT infrastructures and internal cloud environments. Combines day‑to‑day system administration, cloud migration, security management, automation, and incident support for a multi‑tenant portfolio.
Expectations:
- Deliver high‑availability services for client servers, networks, storage and security appliances.
- Execute cloud migrations (hybrid/private), OS and infrastructure upgrades within defined SLAs.
- Provide 2nd/3rd‑level support, on‑call weekend duty (~1 month per year).
- Actively auto‑optimize environments, build reusable scripts and IaC deployments, and document best practices for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer Linux (Debian, RedHat) and Windows Server environments.
- Manage VMware ESXi and Proxmox virtual clusters; deploy Docker and Kubernetes containers.
- Configure and maintain FortiGate firewalls, Cisco routing/switching, and basic VLAN/ACL concepts.
- Perform security tasks: firewall policy updates, VPN setup, SIEM/log forwarding to Sekoia.IO, vulnerability scanning.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute cloud migration projects (private cloud or hybrid).
- Resolve incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis, and support outage investigations.
- Automate repetitive tasks via Bash, Python, or PowerShell; develop and maintain Ansible/Terraform playbooks.
- Mentor clients on security best practices (e.g., 2FA, secure configurations).
- Monitor performance and capacity using Prometheus/Grafana, PRTG, and SIEM dashboards.
- Keep environments secure, patched, and compliant with internal policies.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience administering Linux and Windows Server infrastructures.
- Proficiency with VMware vSphere, Proxmox, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Practical knowledge of Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, basic Cisco configuration, and SIEM/SOC tools (WithSecure, Sekoia.IO).
- Scripting in Bash/Python and PowerShell; experience with Ansible, Terraform, or similar IaC.
- Fundamentals of networking (TCP/IP, subnetting, NAT, VPN).
- Ability to troubleshoot complex incidents and work during on‑call periods.
- Effective communication and client‑facing presentation skills.
- Self‑motivated, collaborative, and proactive in process improvement.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science (e.g., BTS SIO, Licence Pro Réseaux, Engineering school).
- Minimum 2 years of system/network administration experience.
- Preferred: DevOps or automation project experience.
- Certifications: VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Dell Technologies Certified, Fortinet NSE, Docker Certified Associate (DCA), Kubernetes Certified Application Developer (CKAD) – considered a plus.
